The school provides a warm, nurturing, and aspirational learning environment where the specific individual learning needs of our students are fully supported in a mainstream-styled environment.  At Rosemary International Academy we provide an integrated, whole-school multidisciplinary approach to meeting the needs of students with unique learning profiles based on understanding your child’s individual needs, nurturing their academic and social development, and caring for their well-being.



Here at Rosemary Academy, we foster a sense of pride and belonging that encourages your child to progress and achieve at school, and prepares them for independence beyond our doors.

The teaching and integrated therapy at Rosemary International Academy focuses on supporting the challenges faced by students with Special Educational Needs, such as working memory, processing speed, executive functioning, sensory processing, social communication needs, as well as the impact these may have on a student’s confidence and self-esteem.



APPROACH TO TEACHING


RIA’s teachers are highly qualified subject specialists and are united by their enthusiasm for their individual subjects. They also strongly believe in the transformative power of education and take great pride in playing their part in shaping young minds and preparing them for the challenges of the world beyond school. 

 We want pupils to feel that they have had a mental ‘work out’ in lessons, just as they have a physical one on the sports field, and to be very conscious of how their skills and knowledge are improving. To that end, lessons are characterized by a high degree of challenge, driven by inspirational teachers using a pedagogical practice based on established and successful methods blended with the most effective of recent teaching innovations.
  • Academic support – for individuals and groups
    Subject teachers regularly arrange extra tutorials, especially in the weeks before examinations. These are scheduled in your child’s break times, by mutual agreement.
  • Your child can also have one-on-one tutorials, or extra work may be given in order to help overcome any weaknesses in a subject.
  • Tutor System – mentoring your child
    Your child will be allocated a tutor at the start of the year. This will usually be one of your child’s teachers, who will mentor and support your child during their studies.

RIC provides a high level of learning support for your child, to strengthen their study and ensure they reach their goals. Having the opportunity to participate in all areas of the curriculum will expand your child’s learning journey to discover different strengths and abilities.
